NIA is pleased to announce that we have been appointed Chair of the Subgroup for Uptake and Deployment of Advanced Materials within the EU Technology Council for Advanced Materials. This strategic role places NIA at the forefront of efforts to accelerate the transition of advanced materials from research to industrial application across the EU.

The European Commission’s Technology Council for Advanced Materials was established to develop strategies and investment priorities under the Advanced Materials for Industrial Leadership initiative. As Chair of this key subgroup, NIA will focus on ensuring efficient pathways for material innovation, aligning investment priorities with industry needs, and facilitating EU support for scaling up new technologies.

“Our appointment as Chair underscores the critical role nanomaterials play in Europe’s industrial future,” said Dr Sean Kelly, Director General of NIA. “We are committed to driving policies that enable businesses to bring innovative materials to market more effectively, ensuring a strong and competitive European industry.”

NIA looks forward to leading this initiative and working closely with stakeholders to advance investment, regulatory clarity, and industry adoption of advanced materials.
