New EU “One Substance, One Assessment” rules now in force

The EU’s OSOA legislative framework entered into force on 1 January 2026, with the goal of making chemical assessments more efficient, consistent and transparent across EU legislation. The package strengthens data sharing and coordination between authorities, helping to streamline risk assessment for chemicals used in areas such as food, toys, pesticides and biocides.
