The Nanotechnology Industries Association (NIA) was founded in 2005, to unify and guide the emerging nanotechnology industry, dedicated to the safe, sustainable, and beneficial use of nanotechnology across all industries. With headquarters in the United States and the European Union, NIA champions the global nanotechnology industry by influencing policy, fostering innovation, and promoting the essential role of nanotechnology in economic development and positive societal impact.

The NIA shapes global policy and regulations by advising domestic and international bodies that oversee the industry.
