Summary
Partners in the iCare project met at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Pisa on 25-26 August 2026 for the project's penultimate General Assembly.
The meeting focused on reviewing progress across the consortium and planning activities for the final phase of the project. Participants also visited IIT laboratories to observe research activities firsthand, including work involving planarians as a bridging model between traditional animal testing and in vitro approaches.
Discussions also addressed exploitation activities and long-term legacy planning to ensure that the project's outputs remain valuable to regulators, policymakers, industry and the wider research community after the project concludes.
Further activities, including opportunities to participate in beta testing of project tools and methods, will be announced in the coming months.
